As you will be aware, areas of MyActive Glossop are currently closed following recent structural surveys. Some activities and classes are currently operating from alternative locations in the building and community venues including Bradbury House and Glossop Methodist Church.

The health and safety of our members, staff and visitors to the centre is our number one priority which is why these measures have been introduced. Further assessments of the affected areas and consideration of potential remedial works is currently underway, including to the sports hall heating which has failed recently. Contractors have been engaged and are proactively looking at options to provide heating to this area as soon as possible.

We, alongside the council and specialist contractors are continuing to review the operation of the centre with an abundance of caution. Based on professional advice it has been concluded that in the event of snowfall, the centre will close with immediate effect, irrespective of the amount that falls or whether or not it settles. The centre will re-open once the snow has gone.
