There’s lots to be excited about as the redevelopment projects at both MyActive Biddulph and Birchall Sports Pavilion gather momentum, following their official agreement by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
At MyActive Biddulph, the redevelopment will see a complete upgrade of the fitness suite, with the existing cardio and strength training equipment replaced with brand new facilities. There will also be new indoor cycling bikes, new flooring and updated graphics and branding - giving the centre a much needed facelift and creating a more modern and welcoming space for our MyActive members and the local community.
Feedback from the community has also helped shape the plans, ensuring the improvements reflect what people want from their local leisure centre.
Over at Birchall Sports Pavilion, the space which previously housed MyActive Leek’s group exercise classes while the Active Wellbeing Centre was closed for refurbishment will be given a new lease of life. The pavilion will be transformed into a community meeting hub for the local clubs and groups who use Birchall Playing Fields, while also being available for private hire and events.
It’s a fabulous space overlooking the playing fields, and we are really looking forward to making more of the space and expanding what we can offer the Leek community.
There is a lot to look forward to and it’s great to see these projects moving forward in partnership with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. As we continue to invest in our facilities and the communities we serve, we’re proud to be improving lives through movement.
