MyActive is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Haworth as the new General Manager for MyActive Glossop and Glossop Swim!
Sarah has been part of the MyActive family for 27 years, holding a range of roles across the High Peak, including Fitness Manager, Duty Manager, Operations Manager and Active in the Community Development Manager.
Reflecting on her journey, Sarah said:
“All these roles have significantly developed my understanding and knowledge of the business from a commercial perspective, but also given me a deeper insight into our community needs.”
One of the aspects Sarah enjoys most about her role is bringing people together to be active, have fun and connect with others. A great example of this is the walking netball sessions at MyActive Glossop. Running weekly for the past seven years, the sessions have built a strong community of participants who now regularly take part in other activities such as badminton, pickleball, gym sessions and fitness classes. The group also enjoys a range of social events, from trips to watch netball to Christmas celebrations and cinema outings.
Looking ahead to her new role, Sarah is particularly excited about leading a team again and expanding opportunities for people in Glossop and the surrounding areas to become more active.
She said:
“I believe in leading by example which involves being visible, approachable and supportive for both staff and customers. I encourage teamwork and strive to inspire the team to reach their full potential.”
Having worked closely with the local community for many years, Sarah recognises the important role MyActive plays in people’s lives… as a place to feel better, connect with others and build healthier lifestyles.
