Let’s get communities moving together with MyActive

Summer of Movement

This July and August, we’re inviting everyone across High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands to get moving, together. Whether you’re lacing up your trainers for the first time or already in your stride, Summer of Movement is your chance to try something new, enjoy the outdoors, and feel better - physically, mentally, and socially.

From pop-up events and family-friendly fun to themed workouts, competitions and community stories, there’s something for everyone. You’ll find activities that make movement easy, enjoyable, and genuinely welcoming.

“This summer is all about finding what moves you,” says Heather Djuranovic, Marketing and Communications Lead at MyActive. “Whether you’re heading to the park with your family or trying a new class at your local centre, we want it to feel joyful, not like a chore.”

What to expect:

  • Summer offers to help you get started or stay active on a budget
  • In-centre challenges, themed classes, and prize draws
  • Pop-up events bringing movement to unexpected places
  • Real stories from local people finding their groove

As part of the wider MyActive mission, the Summer of Movement campaign also aims to support local Move More strategies, reduce inequalities in access to activity, and create welcoming spaces where everyone can find their way to better health.

“We know that when people move together, they feel better, not just physically, but mentally and socially too,” added Rob Wilks, Managing Director at MyActive. “This campaign is about making that easier and more enjoyable than ever.”

Keep an eye on social media and your local centre for the latest updates, timetables, and ways to get involved.
